Alakija’s growing feat

Folorunso AlakijaListed by Forbes in 2012 as one of Africa’s richest women, Folorunsho Alakija added another feather to her cap when she launched her third literary work, ‘The Cry of Widows and Orphans’ at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs recently.
It was double festivity as her foundation, Rose of Sharon, which caters to the  needs of widows and orphans also clocked five years. A high profile event, it had in attendance the crème of society including  Abimbola Fashola and Nneoma Okorocha; the First Ladies of Lagos and  Imo states respectively. The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Chief Edem Duke, was also on hand to review the book. Other guests included Abike Dabiri, Eniola Fadayomi, Stella Okoli and Dr. Abiba Lawal who represented the Minister of Women Affairs.
